Stop looking for who is in charge. If you can't find an obvious person that you want to follow, you are it. We, educators, are so trained to look for someone to tell us what is right, and we need to model taking initiative. We avoid this because what if we are wrong? This is an old way of thinking. The new UnMastered way of thinking is: Of course I will be wrong... and then I will learn and build something that reflects that learning. Without the wrong part, the right part doesn't exist. Fear of being wrong keeps us off the field, and nothing gets built on the sideline. In the words of Kid President, "You got a heartbeat, it's time to do something."
