What is a Short-Term Strategic Sprint?
A Strategic Sprint will help:
Outcomes of a Strategic Sprint
What does it look like?
In this first meeting, we will build the team, set norms and goals and begin the process of thinking generatively about the 12 months ahead, Experiences include:
Know/Think We Know: What do we know and what do we think we know about the 3, 6 and 12 months ahead?
Possible vs Probable: Generative question storming beginning with the prompt: "What if?" As the team groups and organizes questions by time, scope and impact, we will also start to gauge the probability of each of the scenarios.
If THIS then THAT: Drawing on "second order thinking" we will see the secondary and tertiary outcomes from the most probable "What if?" questions.
Possible. Probable. Preferable.
With three business models for alternative scenarios in hand, it is time to think about how to achieve the most preferable outcome and land a strategy to achieve it. Here is where your team will devise the road map for the next 3-6 months and then sketch out the two-three possibilities for the next 9-12 months, for which greater uncertainty still exists.
We will also determine "PIVOT POINTS" - those moments of the greatest uncertainty where you may need to pivot hardest and fastest.
Leadership + Design will transform the work from meeting one into three alternative future scenarios. Small groups use the Business Model Canvas to develop three distinct strategies for the coming year that help play out what the future may hold for:
Enrollment Contraction and Expansion
Staffing, Tuition/Financial Aid
New Market Ideas
Your team will have three business plans for consideration.
Execute and Communicate.
Execution and communication of the plan will be critical as you move your community forward. Using a modified Gantt chart format, the team will begin to plot out the timeline, the action steps and the individuals responsible for the actions.
Brainstorming tactics and action steps for multi-media communications for all stakeholders will be included in this session.
